My name is Nathalie and I am currently in my first year of Architecture at Sheffield University. For our fifth studio project of the year, my group (F4) have been given the task of competing for a chance to build ‘a place for conversation’ in Barnsley City Centre. To make it slightly more complicated, we are to design the entire sturcture purely out of timber, using no adhesive or other fixing material. The timber we use must be sourced by ourselves, and if our design is chosen in favor of the other group using wood, the entire structure has to be made by ourselves. This blog follows us from the beginning of the design process right through to the final construction (hopefully!).
